Our generation is before the new tech wave so kid these days are used to paying for subscribed steaming content. This is why he has so much subscribers in twitch and makes revenue from there and YouTube and other channels.

The truth is them old cats are bitter for not being as popular...so what they interviewed more people. The key spending demographic favor dj aka which is a fact going forward.

I can't understand how you figure that Desus and Mero are less popular than Akademics? They have a show that from what it seems is doing pretty well on an actual TV station and Akademics is at the place they were a few years ago. They have been guest on late night shows where the host would have no idea who Akademics is nor would they give a fukk. They also have a sponsored podcast and are on a show on Netflix. These are all way bigger than Akademics talking to teenagers on YouTube.

Also it seems like the hip hop world has an inflated view of what Complex is in the real world. If you look up their net worth it's like 200-300 million while Vice is worth billions. I'm sure Desus and Mero are making more than Buddens did at Complex and definitely way more than Akademics.

Check his IG and YouTube videos and you find everything going on in the culture currently. Now add that to his show with Joe and all the drama that came with it and boom. I don't really watch tv like that anymore (no cable and not cause i can't afford it). Don't know many people that watch tv either.

AK can be corny as fukk sometimes but i respect his hustle. Plus eventhough he can be lame as fukk, there's a certain naivety and aloofness to him that i not only find funny, but also makes me unable to completely hate. I don't really know desus and mero's shyt like that. Saw a few interviews, i think the Jamaican dude is funny as fukk. I respect the fact they are getting it multiple ways. Their beef is unnecessary. There's enough for everyone. I see Charlamagne tried to smooth things between them all. I kind of agree that Desus and Mero kinda started poking at AK. Was it just jokes or hate? Did AK overract? Hard to say. Just wish they could all co-exist.
