RGIII is dark skinned and pretty much throws all them stereotypes to the bushes, in and out of the game of football (especially as it relates to being a quarterback).
That type of shyt don't sit well with anyone, white or black.
We see a dark skinned nikka and, subconsciously or otherwise, we have expectations and when he doesn't follow them, people get uneasy (or at the very most positive, "surprised"...Now why the f*ck would you be "surprised" with the way a person speaks, how he conducts himself, what music he listens to...etc? I didn't even know Russell Wilson was Black until like a few weeks ago. Colin Kaepernick either, so their racial ambiguity might have more to do with it than just being light-skinned.
If you're light-skinned and obviously Black, like say Derrick Rose or Allen Iverson or something, you'd get the same issues that RGIII would get, but if people can't really tell what you are like Wilson is, you'd probably be able to avoid some of the racial stuff.
