I help run a summer football camp in the DC area, and our organization also has camps in Detroit and Cleveland as well. Our organization is committed to helping at-risk youths in urban areas and as a part of this commitment, we don't charge kids from inner-city high schools ANYTHING for the camp.

Well, last week we were informed that adidas, with the help from RGIII, has guaranteed us over $500,000 in free gear for roughly 1,200 students. Each kid attending our camp will receive cleats, a compression shirt, shorts, socks, adidas gloves and a gym bag. Plus 50 coaches per city will get shoes, a polo, socks and shorts. Its around $400 retail value per camper.

It's called giving back.

Rob Parker made himself look really stupid this morning with those comments. Stephen A. was doing his best in trying to help Rob before he made a total ass of himself on national TV but Rob was too determined to speak his narrow mind on the subject.

Rob Parker is a product of the machine and doesn't even realize it. A divisive mentality like that is one of the things that continue to hold us back as a community. A black man having to authenticate his blackness in this day and time is laughable. It's already hard enough for us in society and it doesn't help when we have one of our own that questions if you belong or are down for the cause. RG3 is a football player. Why in the hell should anybody care if he is a cornball or not? I swear man it seems like everytime we get a black athlete that excels at a predominately white position or sport, we have some people from our own community that try to tear them down. The Gabby Douglas hair comments come to mind. We need to do a better job in supporting each other instead of hating the ones who don't fit the description of the cool negro. Whatever that means.

I was just trying to think of other movies like you described. Only thing that came to me was Seven Pounds and how to absolve his sins Will Smith gives away all his vital organs because he killed a bunch of people.

It's a number game. There haven't been that many Black QB's in the NFL. The reason why White QB's seem like they do better is because the large numbers of White QB's in the NFL history. There has been way more bust White QB's than successful ones, but since there's so many White QB's that come in the NFL every year people don't recognize it.

Trying to argue with them is as useful as screaming at a chalkboard. It's just young minded cats projecting their fantasies on a kid as far as I'm concerned. What's really dumb is they so caught up in being "offended" by dude not identifying with race that they don't even notice who they're comparing him too? I guarantee you that RG3 wouldn't reject the notion of being compared to Warren Moon, in the sense that both of them are performing in offenses that are considering unconventional as hell, but they're comparing him to Vick etc like they're actually good QB's which they aren't they're only comparable in terms of athleticism.
