Why do you always have to be against something mowgli, Alfonso Cuaron and Lubezki are at the top of their game, why not just enjoy this film by itself? It's not a competition. :smh: Children of Men is one of the greatest scifi movies of all time.

Children of Men was excellent. That long shot near the end during the shootout was insane. I think they actually made the movie better than the book it was based on.

I didn't even hear about the movie until it was already on DVD. My dad asked me if i had heard about it and explained the concept behind the movie. I was immediately intrigued and knew I had to see it. Good god I was in awe the whole film. The camera work is INCREDIBLE. Plus the story was top notch. I'm really excited about Cuaron's career. I remember being upset that warner brothers didn't choose him to direct Harry Potter and the Goblet of fire.

Cuaron is the truth, man. His directing Prisoner of Azkaban is what saved the Harry Potter movie franchise after Chris Columbus made two completely forgettable flicks.
If WB was smart they would get him to agree to make a DC comics character movie like Wonder Woman or Justice League.

What was their reason behind it? The story or were not impressed by the special effects?

They didn't like the story and felt the movie just didn't deliver. Sandra bullock was appearently annoying..My sister was the one who anticipated it the most but was also the most disappointed. I usually take their reviews with a grain of salt but they were pretty adamant about the movie being weak. My cousin who has pretty good taste in movies was like, don't see it you'll regret it. So idk..

I'd say listen  If you find Sandra Bullock annoying, then no way do you spend a 1 1/2 with her on screen. But technology, special effects it does deliver as everyone says.

You gotta be really into science to appreciate it, friend. They were probably entertained by the Man of Steel.

:russ: I jested.

The effects no question look awesome. But there's has to be some substance and entertainment which they didn't find.
