Also we use boiled and pounded breadfruit instead of pounded yam. What you saw in the previous pic was breadfruit pounded
Eh, pounded yam is more of a Nigerian thing, we Ghanaians use plantain instead to make fufu. It can be made up of different materials depending on each culture as long as the product looks and feels the same.
In your case, you Haitians have made your version using breadfruit. You guys should be proud to have kept that tradition after slavery.
Of course we do. But lets just play along with lil brehs so nobody gets in they feelings.no.
You already know who has the best food in Africa
Senegal made it a hot name, we made it a hot dish.Senegal by a mile. In fact the main dish that Nigerian and Ghanian people claim they are best at (Jollof Rice) is actually from the Jollof (Wolof) tribe in Senegal.
Sierra Leone is second.
It must be because it takes a long ass time to cook in generalOne thing i have noticed is that I don’t see many african takeout or sit down restaurants. In DC, where I live, Ethiopian is almost on par with sushi, Pho, or any other dining out cuisine IE. People go out once a week and might have Italian one week, ethiopian the next. However, these are all Mom and pops enterprises. We are still years away from a Panda Express, chipotle, etc
You didn’t name the culture of the food you posted. L
That's just another word for pap. What does ugali taste like?
Ethiopian food is fine but I also don't get the hype with injera. Its like having light sour pancakes for lunch. I need more thickness breh!Ethiopian is ok. Although I can eat it, not a fan of the soury-ness of injera.
what is tom tom made of?Haitians got that and tomtom which is the same as african fufu or gumbo
Haitian tomtom
Fufu and palm oil soup with all kinds of meatWest African food is GOAT, be it Ghana or Sierra Leone. Palm Oil makes all the difference, that shyt is crack. I once drove over an hour to New Brunswick, NJ just to get some.
