You wanna go pro? How many hours a week do you put in? Have you had any fights yet? My bad for pressing you lol

I used to be 2 hours in the gym (boxing), and 2 hours at home (running and normal gym). Now I hardly train at all injuries (dislocate one shoulder separated the other) and work, I do sports journalism so prefer to do the questioning rather the fighting. Had a few fights lost none was going to enter the ABAs (UK equivalent of your golden gloves I think) when I had the first injury and its been downhill from there.

Hagler Red Bull having a useless debate. Both of y'all can agree that Mau is great. Anyway, Floyd has to be the top Business man/active boxer since Oscar.

I'm not involved, is there a boxing thread or will all boxing be discussed in here?

Damn sorry to hear that. I'm looking into becoming an amateur.

Floyd has definitely learned a bunch in the business world. I'm sure he picks up on things quick as shiit outside of the ring as he does inside of the ring. He's smart as hell.

I'm not taking anything away from his business acumen...now. I'm just saying that Al Haymon, Oscar maybe, Richard Schaefer are the ones that put him onto all of it. I'd imagine that Floyd would admit as much, too.

Do it, even if you don't fight the training is a next level of discipline. I went and did a 6 1/2 km run this morning and it killed me as I hadn't done a run for over a week but you enjoy it.

Sparring is the best thing though, in our gym its really competitive and other gyms send their fighters here as well.

I spar with this guy http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=545557&cat=boxer

Oh no doubt, Floyd would be a fool to ever try to deny, he admits he used those guys to get where he's at, business-wise. That trio of minds combined is crazy!

What about his random million dollar Vegas bets on sporting events?

Wouldn't say that falls under businessman, but dude sure knows how to pick them. :win:

Didn't he win $1.8 million on Game 1 of the Clippers series? Only thing you don't hear about is how much he's lost on sports.

every young black fighter who is an olympian or has that a great amateur background should do what floyd has done...stop letting these leeches eat off their talent...but if you're like a manny pacquiao or somethin with no real exposure before turning pro you need the golden boy, top rank, etc. to get your foot in the door...but once you get that look, you should cut ties with the quickness.

floyd has changed the way boxing business is done and in the future could create better fights. most of the time promoters stand in the way of those big fights to 'protect' their cash cows...reason manny vs floyd won't happen in the next year or so.

It baffles me that a smart businessman didn't even have a official (paid) stream online for his fight, which should be standard by now. Also, he should be reaching out to Xbox Live like UFC has. Just seems logical since he cares so much about his PPV numbers that he would want to bump them up more by offering more options.
