Penny needs to jump to the NBA. He’s absolutely right about the age of his players being a big issue but he also recruited them. You can’t build up your program with mercenaries.
It’s also just a different kind of kid these days. They don’t listen. The type of turnovers they make is just flat out stupidity and it’s no coaching that can change that. When you have Larry Brown and Rasheed Wallace on your staff and kids don’t want to listen, it tells me more about the kid than the coaching. However, this is the bed Penny made.
His style of coaching is much more suited for the league.
Emoni is already a cautionary tale. The Sports Illustrated cover story was a kiss of death. His father saying his son is so good he just needs to practice shooting 3s with his left hand
. Meanwhile Emoni can’t come off a screen with proper footwork at Memphis, let alone do anything else.
Lucky for him he’s not eligible for the draft yet. The G-League isn’t the right move for him. He can’t even score in college kids. He should stay at Memphis another year and work his ass off.

I dont really follow high school bball like I did when I was younger, but I just found out this morning that he left HS early. This is a fuhking tragedy. Let these kids be kids. Nothing is better than HS life.

Not sure it was on here or somewhere else but I remember threads on this dude being a stone cold lock to eventually be a high lotto pick
Article I read last night said dude has the shortest arms for his height in the database
and his jumping stats are trash
If dudes measurables and athleticism is that trash how did he ever get hype? Zion was beating up on lil white kids in HS but you could still see the athleticism, if Bates didn’t even have that it’s wild all the hype kid got
