A lot of these 6'9+ twig nikkas wit handles and a wet jumper been compared to KD. It gettin to the point of that 2000s era when we got so many MJ comps for athletic wings that could score all 3 levels wit handles :russ:

He was hitting wide open shots in an offense where he was set up to be that guy teams left open assuming he was trash

Credit to Reaves for shooting well but if emoni can’t hit those same wide open threes he don’t deserve to be in the NBA
Yeah you don’t watch basketball.

Reaves has a tighter handle and better balance and strength he’s a better shooter and just a smarter player.

Reaves isn’t just catching and shooting he’s a skilled shot creator and can finish at the rim through contact/draw fouls and make shots in the floater range.

I like Emoni on Cleveland and think there could be a good pro in him but relax.

honestly think that cleveland is a great spot for him. he's just gotta get stronger

being around pros is gonna make him start taking a lot of the weakest parts of his game way more seriously than before.
I agree I think Donovan is a great leader/vet for him too.

Can teach him a lot about strength training and shot creation and keeping a cool head.

People said it was a wrap when he left Memphis for Eastern Michigan but he got drafted so in the end it was a good move for him. Maybe he can turn things around and level up. Not all kids take the same path to glory :blessed:
I’m sure he’s personally disappointed but he has the opportunity to excel with hard work.

I think saying Emoni can become as good as Reaves someday isn't too outrageous of a statement at all.

Getting a leash long enough to become that player might be tough, but him becoming that in say, 4 to 5 years isn't an impossible task.

Reaves is solid af his efficiency was off the charts last season nearly 70% TS

It feels like something good happens any time he touches the rock solid on D too

I’m not expert but I watched enough playoffs to know Reaves is a good system player and has a nice IQ I wouldn’t go much further than that since he played on a team where most defenders didn’t focus on him. He was making open threes and the right passes so he did his job.

I wouldn’t say he’s drastically any more athletic or better built than emoni.
There was no Reaves hype a year ago. He’s an average player. If he wasn’t on Lakers nobody would know his name

Emoni has star potential in Cleveland. People in here are just hoping for the worse case scenario and being negative. I’d rather think the opposite :manny:

Can't be for the NBA. If he last 3 years, he beat the odds.

As far as HS to college. I would say yes. Shea Cotton was better. Felipe Lopez was better. Omar Cook was better.

What’s crazy is he got drafted after the worst possible circumstances

It’s like all the pitfalls was set for him to fail and he STILL got drafted off a losing season at Eastern

Imagine where he would’ve been drafted if he made no mistakes, never was injured and played on a team that made the tournament

Emoni still is success story all things considered
