He's not seeing an NBA floor ANY time soon. His defense is horrendous and measurables are terrible.
Isn't fast/quick enough, so is gonna need some major work in the G-league.

If Austin Reaves can start in the playoffs and score 20ppg I’m sure emoni won’t have any issues in the league

He was hitting wide open shots in an offense where he was set up to be that guy teams left open assuming he was trash
Credit to Reaves for shooting well but if emoni can’t hit those same wide open threes he don’t deserve to be in the NBA

he averaged 20 against the nuggets and u think that was off wide open shots? he was our 2nd best shot creator after Bron the entire season which is why he got the all these fts and 2nd best playmaker. shyt at times he was our primary playmaker. tell me u didn't watch austin reaves without telling me u didn't watch austin reaves. not to mention austin does way more than score which emoni doesn't
Exactly. And all of these cats are gonna land somewhere. Emoni is gonna magically have to get it together and be on some Lonzo in Summer League type shít to lock something in. Hope for the best for him but it’s clear that he still needs to put in the work.
Problem with Bates is he’s just not good at anything other than volume scoring. If that’s your thing, you have to be REALLY good at it, like top 10-20 in the world. He’s not. He was struggling to get separation from MAC defenders - go look at his EMU highlights, there were a lot of loooong distance threes with guys on him; granted they went in but you’re just not gonna get that with NBA caliber guys.
No team in their right mind is going to allow him to get 20 PPG on 20 shots while providing abysmal defense and not even looking to pass. It’s probably best if he spends a couple years in the G-League, because he’s not gonna get a shot if he provides nothing to a team other than scoring

Do you watch games at all? He wasn’t just hitting wide open shots because he was “left open”. He was creating off the dribble, slashing, finishing at the rim, etc. You nikkas have no idea what’s going on outside of your vacant heads.

People said it was a wrap when he left Memphis for Eastern Michigan but he got drafted so in the end it was a good move for him. Maybe he can turn things around and level up. Not all kids take the same path to glory
