it was a great song but a weak diss. Nothing they said was scathing or hurt Pac. They just made fun of him getting robbed and told a bunch of ducktales threats.
:gucci:95% of hit em was ducktale threats
So the Rikers Island rape was duck tales?

Everyone in New York at the time knew he got raped.

That’s why Wendy Day had to get the fruit of Islam involved, that’s why Freddie Foxx stepped in. They had to clean up the mess after it happened.
stans re-write history and act like nikkas was scared of pac when him being food in NY in many instances is the reality

Well, if he would have survived, Pac would have crushed them dudes. I know a lot of ppl fukk with mobb deep, but jeep it a buck my nikkaz. If they would have released that and he was still living, they would have got handled. I dont care that yall think prodigy was some god level mc. I didnt. They would have got blazed. The nikka was just to big at the time.

The industry feared Suge and MOB, that's indisputable. But Tupac Shakur? Not even close, he was an entertainer/actor and the epitome of a charismatic rapper/wanna be thug. People were drawn to PAC because he was charismatic, nobody feared him though, he shot himself in the balls, got robbed and got raped on Rikers Island after being extorted by Brooklyn gangsters.

Mobb Deep would have been fine everywhere aside from Los Angeles, their team 'Infamous' had some strong and feared people 'Yammy, Killa Black, Kiko etc', it wasn't until the end of the millennia as they're crew waned (death, robberies etc) that they lost strength in the street.

Breh there's no references to either of those things in "Drop A Gem On Em". You're thinking of "In The Long Run".

Fred.
I'm not going to quote the lyrics to "Drop A Gem On Em", it's your job to listen to it properly.

I'm not talking about the Keith Murray song.

Pac dying right after the song came out KILLED all the hype around this song they were gonna do a video and everything

In an alternate reality where Pac didn't get killed in 96' I could see this joint being considered the goat

I'm convinced had Pac never died this beef would have been the #1 hip-hop story of '96.

Undeniable top 5 diss track. P spazzed out on this fukking track.

"Get chopped up Grade-A meat somethin' delicious
And laced back up 2 Gs worth of stitches
To reconstruct your face and learn how to speak again
My Mobb like a bunch of wild Puerto Ricans
With bangers the size of African spears"

ATL paid.. Cali blazed
full

Pac didn’t even mention Mobb Deep in his rhymes on Hit Em Up. All he said was some weak shyt about sickle cell.
Anything posthumous doesn’t count because Mobb couldn’t respond because Pac was dead.

The battle was Hit Em Up vs. Drop A Gem On Em and Mobb clearly won
It was a number of rappers that dissed him after the fact.. And that lil bit of talkin was better than that whole song minus the beat
