Is Death Stranding gonna flop?

I just had this thought, watching the last cutscene and the gameplay they showed at Gamescom.

I looked at live comments and there were lots of people commenting "zzzzzzzzzz" and just wtf is going on and shyt like that.

I'm willing to give it a shot but are enough people gonna buy a game that they just see as bizarre and abstract just for the sake of being weird?

I personally hope it does well so Kojima's new studio can live on.

After watching the gameplay video I've knocked it down to a rental. Looks boring and empty as hell. I'm not going to risk full price on that.

I think he is trying to keep alot of stuff close to the vest. The majority of what he has shown has been walking so i can't fault anyone for bashing the game.

He has shown TPS elements in the game so I believe there will be lots of action. We'll see.

But I don't think it'll flop. I think it'll be well polished and have plenty of kojima action. Story we'll be divisive and somewhat incoherent.

I have defended this game over and over but I am getting skeptical now. The game just seems so overly unnecessarily complex for the sake of uniqueness and displaying genius. I hope it is good but nothing shownso far gameplay wise has shown an ounce of excitement. I will continue to be hopeful and have faith.

Exactly this, during the first year or 2 with the odd trailer here and there literally nobody could tell what the fukk was going on, but everybody was still

But now, even as a Kojima Stan I’m so bored of seeing repetitive gameplay showing literally nothing in between deliberately vague cutscenes released for the purpose of confusing people even further instead of actually informing people what the game is actually about.

It’s gonna be fukking hilarious if this game gets panned

The hype is too damn high for this one. Top streamers will play it, and it will sell even more off that too. The game will probably have some addicting gameplay elements to keep people playing for more. And it looks incredibly deep story wise.

I honestly think the only thing that will suck about this game is the combat mechnics. we'll see.
