Yes the title is an oxymoron but 1st let me just say that I've had time to really think about this and honestly I really don't see the point. It started with Black Planet when I was in college, then it went to Myspace, then it went to Facebook, then Twitter, Then Instagram. So keeping up with your friends and family is cool but it's not about that. It's turned into High School all over again. People beefing on line, People lying about their lives and status to look good. Then when I see my aunts and parents on there or friends parents I'm like really? Mom Dukes? There was a time that me and my friends did things and my parents would never know about it. Now they just need to log on, lol.

Honestly even though I'm a product of the Technological age, I've really become Anti-Social Networking. No I don't need to tell you everything I'm doing and everywhere I'm going. No you don't need to see a photo of what I'm doing day in and day out. If and When I finally have a Kid, No I will not post pictures of my babymoms/wife in the hospital after giving birth. To me the whole thing has gotten out of control and I think people have taken way to far. Also by posting a photo you have put it online forever, nothing can take it down. Remember when we had photo albums and photos use to be an itimate thing between you friend and family? Well that's gone too. Overall It's like some people want to be some celebrity or something. So am I alone? is anyone else tired of Social Networking?

I ain't o. Facebook, but I think it's a good thing to use to stay in touch.

But people just use it to gain attention, usually making themself like a fool in the process.

You're not the only one, but what are you gonna do?

For the most part, it's just people not knowing the potential reach of what they're posting.

I recently reactivated my fb to keep in touch with some folks, but I post nothing on there.

Also, where are you gonna find a photo lab in 2013 to develop your pics for your physical photo album? :usure: There are barely any left.

Here are some interesting articles I found on the subject:

"The anti-social network: Life without Facebook"

The anti-social network: Life without Facebook - CNN.com

"3 Reasons you should quit social media"

3 Reasons You Should Quit Social Media In 2013 - Forbes

Like with anything there are positives and negatives but I think there are more negatives than positives. Also Facebook is now a publicily traded company which means your photos are theres for marketing purposes. Basically they need your photos to survive. Didn't Instagram recently have some problems when there was something leaked that people photos would be used as advertisement without their consent and then they back tracked?:

"Instagram updates policy after backlash"

Instagram updating policy after photo backlash

If I had to rate the 3, I think I like Twitter more than Facebook and Instagram cause Twitter is more just people giving a quick comment on a subject so that's not too bad but people have Twitter Beef has made it weak to me also.

I wasn't saying we should go back to the "Photo Lab" days (Paying 10-20 Bucks to develop photos got way to expensive anyways) I was saying there was a time when photos were more an intimate thing then they are now. Now everyone wants the WORLD to see their photos when back in the day you just wanted close friends and family to see them. Everyone photo's are digital at this point. I agree that the cat is out of the bag there is no turning back but the f*ckery that has already occurred leads me to believe again more negative than positive.

Privacy in the internet age is obsolete. Just google your name and I'm sure information about your previous address, emails and phone numbers will be up there. Look at Google Maps and Earth, they got satellite photos of your location, lol. "Enemy of the State" by Will Smith was ahead of it's time, real talk. Same with "The Net" with Sandra Bullock. It's funny when I was in High School in the 90's and The Internet (Dail up, LOL) was just blowing up. I remember I had a teacher that hated it and said to the class one day. "The NET stands for (Never Ever Trust)" He had no idea how right he was, lol.

One positive thing about the Internet Age. Porno, LOL. Going into a Adult Video store was the worst back in the day, LOL. One of the things that inspired this thread was "Google Glass". When I saw the commercial I thought that technology was starting to go to far. It's bad enough Google can track our emails and what we look up. But now they actually want to see what we are looking at too. Wait till the facebook option drops on Google Glass:
