breh..

what's been your fav awards season so far..2012, 2013, 2014?

thread idea that's been in my head for a while. lol

Probably 07 or 08. In 07 I got to see a lot of the nominees in film class so something that wasn't on my radar at the time like Little Miss Sunshine, I got to see and enjoyed. But I also loved the departed so damn much I was just giddy and waiting for it to win and very glad it did. The next year though, we get There Will Be Blood, No Country for Old Men, Eastern Promises, Michael Clayton, Ratatouille,

I'd agree with that to an extent. I think the primary genre is Hero movie (an exceptional person faces extraordinary evil and triumphs), but it is dressed up as a crime movie. Kind of like how Captain America 2 is a hero movie dressed up as a political thriller.

I'd reverse that. It's a crime movie dressed up as a comic book flick. You could make the same movie and replace Batman and Joker with a cop and a lunatic and it could be the same movie

It probably would be 2012 then. I enjoyed all the big movies minus Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.
i'd have to peep everything all typed out to decide, but I may agree with you..but this year has been really good..i just think it lacks an all-timer so far

though i'll stan for Birdman any day of the week :birdman:

Yeah I don't know if 2012 has an all time great either though. Hugo is very very dope but an all time great? :patrice:

Edit: I'm changing it to 2012 season for 2013 awards. That year was stacked. Argo, Beasts of the southern wild, Django, Lincoln, Life of Pi, Silver Linings, Zero Dark Thirty. Great year

I don't think so breh. I actually think people are going to like it worse over time and that's not because I'm not a fan, that just tends to be the pendulum for any Chris Nolan movie made post Dark Knight. Plus Interstellar is one of those movies that the more you think about it and analyze it, it starts to fall a part, much like dark knight rises. I'm still going with 2012-2013.

I gotta warn you guys. This is NOT a gangster flick. More of a morality tale. Pretty good movie though. Oscar Isaac acts his ass off and does his thing. So does Jessica Chastain.

This is not a gangster flick. Chastain's dad is a small time gangster who we never get to see or meet. Their are no shootouts, or montages of people being whacked. It was still good though. The guy from the show Girls, was a real goon in this.

Thanks for the spoilers

:snoop::snoop::snoop::snoop::snoop:

Cap 2 is not a fukking political thriller in any form, fashion or any other sense. It's not dressed up like a political thriller, it doesn't resemble a political thriller, it just simply is in no way a political thriller of any kind. Some a$$hole from Marvel described it as one to ramp up hype for his movie. That's it.
