That didn’t actually prove anything. Both this music and corny ass fashion is watered down. That’s why they keep making a killing off retro gear. And where does that gear come from? The 90s

It proved what your Neanderthal mindset is. you feel the same u do on fashion as u do muzik. You a relic breh. A thing of the past.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
I double dog dare you to step into a spot wearing a starter jacket RN.
You think they are sold out everywhere because nobody wearing them? You think people posting them and buying them and others crying over where to get them is because they wouldn't wear them?

What kind of spot we talking about? The 18 and under club? I promise you if I walk around this city in a Redskins starter, 50 people gonna ask me where I copped it

70s drip has been influencing women clothing lowkey if you got the eye
If we're talking Gen Z, the current trends are 90's based with big denim and flannels and crop tops coming back. The 70's influenced the 2000's and the 80's influenced the early 2010's. Mostly because in the last half of the 20th century and into the 21st, when you turn around 20-ish, style starts to emulate what was out when you were little and you put a twist on how you think "adults" dressed.

Gen X was born in the 70's to early 80's so obviously disco like clothes, fringe and bellbottoms came back in the 2000's when they were the dominant culture makers. It's also why neo-soul and zodiac stuff hit hard in the late 90's early 2000's that was the wave in the 70's.

Us millennials turn to the late 80's early 90's so that's why cats were wearing tiny pants and animal print and skater shoes. And then trying to spin the Cocaine 80's by wearing business casual to the club.

So now Gen Z is combining some amalgamation of the mid/late 90's and early 2000's into their style. Big clothes, no prints outside of plaid, athletic gear...all that stuff was the wave back then.

This is a great psychological breakdown of why we always revert back and to what period

Yup, and it was only possible after the advent of mass media and people being able to see what the hottest trends were nationwide. Before then, you had to rely on word of mouth or dressing for special events/church.

Past that, you dressed for whatever you were doing at the time.

You're just saying that with no argument, I laid out examples. I as born in 81' i remember both and 90's tops 80's. Most people in the 80's didnt even have cable tv. 90's had that blend of tech and old school stuff from 80's and before.

What exactly did the 80's beat the 90's. You can maybe say MJ and pop stars but MTV in the 90's made them tv stars not just radio stars.

We have bled the same archetypes dry for the past 40+ years that came to be in the 80s. By the time the 90s rolled around the standards had already been set in music, tv & movies. Surely you don’t need it laid out for you

You can’t be serious lol

still no examples

and how could they been set when in the 80's cable wasn't common to make video stars? Also to create and introduce new genres to the masses that radio stations at the time didn't play?

Blockbuster wasn't around to elevate movies and introduce folks to new genres?

80's and prior decades laid alot of ground work or "standards" but if we're talking about over PEAK of everything everything peaked in the 80s ...yes there were some aspects that were better in prior decades but overall 90's wins hands down. Pop culture was just on another level
