ghostface still has a superior catalog.

cuban linx, ironman, supreme, BPW, P Toney, Fishscale > nas best 6 albums

the lower tier more fish/apollo kids/big doe rehab/ reminds me of nas lower tier shyt

wizard of poetry idk how to rate because its an album for woman. i gave it to my girl its one of her favorites but of course i cant listen to it. lets not act like if nas tried an r n b album it wouldnt be his worst record tho

LIG is a great comeback, his previous releases leading upto it werent anything special sides a few songs.

Nas spits about EVERYTHING. The fact he tries different shyt on every album is exactly why he has the best catalog of all time.
Lyrically he has different shyts, but flow wise, technical mc wise and musically before LIG he'd dropped the same shyt for nearly 5 albums. But lyrically he's always on some other shyt. That's why they call him a poet and probably the best lyricist. But never the best rapper, hiphop artist or mc.

I find Nas to be lame corny mundane and usually flowing off beat for the last 10 years or so

Last time I was feeling Nas was stillmatic/Lost Tapes(old records tho on LT)

I dont check for his music no more , I downloaded LIG and I already deleted it:thumbsdown:

This thread is easily the truth.

Jay tried the brain wash with "the most consistent..." Comment on the blueprint, ironically he's one of the most inconsistent lol.

And his interviews are garbage, holla.

Jay is the most consistent, and has more classics.

RD, BA, BP1, and AG are all classics.

And he's 100x better live than Nas is. Nas is mediocre to terrible live.

After dropping vol. 3, bp2, kc, and bp3 and not 1, but 2 garbage albums with r Kelly, we're throwing jays consistency in the bushes.

Plus vol. 1 and 2 are spotty, depending on how you view them.

He's great when he's on point, but he's known to cater to pop fans and fads that Sometimes turn his music to shyt.

He sells units though.

Where the hood Where the hood Where the hood at
Nas started off with the GOAT album...of course ppl will consider him inconsistent.

Which rapper is consistent? Which rapper even gets analyzed like he does?

You must be kiddin

Nas is supposed to the GOAT lyricist but Jay's lyrics are easily the most discussed.

This was the case on Sohh.

Only aspect about Nas which gets analysed are the Ls which he consistently takes.

that really is an unfxwitable catalogue. that 4 album batch is as strong as any MC/group in hip hop history.

Having seen Nas and Jay like 4-5 times live (including once together back in 2006 in London) I would say the gap isnt that wide anymore.

Jay definetly lays back and lets the crowd who know the hits do the talking so to speak and because his songs have instantly recognizablity he is built for stadium status. He can be a little chilled live at times.

But Nas has kind of improved live over the last few years, especially with a live band and with DJ Green Lantern mixing his sets and going into blends. He's become more fun and animated since the God Son tour and is just having fun out there more and more. Its not as bad as he was in the late 90s and early 2000s.

He skips and flubs lines but I've seen Jay do that (particularly at SXSW this year)

Nas more consistent than Jay? :laff:

More proof that the booth is run by Nas' cronies

Jay is more consistent...He's been rapping about nothing but money and how he used to sell drugs for 15 years...

Nas on the other hand raps about the power of guns, struggle of Black women, the prison industrial system, fatherhood, Black diet and nutrition, the history of hip hop and who killed it, the joy of marriage, the struggle of divorce, right wing media propaganda, selling drugs, Black R&B legends that died young, hiv infection in the community, the history of Rakim, poor public education, political hypocrisy, climate change and extertesterial activity on the planet.. (just to name a few)

So if you want consistency..Jay would be your obvious choice... You know exactly what you're getting...

Nas and Ghost are the GOAT consistent emcees.

Even with awkward moments like Wizadry Of Poetry and Street Disciple. Their bar is set high, so those albums are weak. But, still better when compared to the rest of the game.

Im a new member and Ive been lurking these forums for about a month and I decided to register..I usually give respect to the ol heads of a forum but this post is soo bullsht ur not worthy of an ounce of respect

Lets not act like your ear is so biased that its easier for you to find the substance in a Nas track and easier you to tune out the substance of a Jay track.

So you're telling me Jay hasnt talked about the state of black excellence and how we're also at fault for our own lack of it? Or how about his baby, Or how about the futility of chasing success just for the sake of it? Or how about people's envy getting in the way of their own success? Or how about speaking on the tragedy of all kings/great men and the rise and fall of all of em, akin to Solomon's observations in the Book of Ecclesiastes. Or How about the questioning of the need of divinity?

Im sorry anytime I see a dumbass say that Jay only talks money I gag. Do u just skim the music u dumb nikka?

Also I hope Im welcome here but and I usually respect the OGS nahmeen
But this dumb nikka aint getting no respect from my noob ass.

And Ive always wanted to use these faces :skip:
OOO that feels good
