She won the MYC, was in the Royal Rumble, was in the WM battle royal, & is more than likely going to be the one who beats Shayna on her way up for the belt, all in a year plus Kairi missed some time shortly after she got there. They clearly like her to be putting her in the Rumble/WM battle royal but they aren't just shooting her straight to the belt because NXT is a babyface factory right now & Kairi is helping build up the heels from the PC because she's great at working with young, newer people. I mean outside of Shayna who is there as a heel for Kairi to work with if she had the belt right now?

I think we all know there is only one true Joshi star...

Went over Stardoms top star & their top foreign star in 1 tour :wow:

Kairi is treading water, Asuka has been irrelevant since Mania and will probably lose to Mella. Smart move to make the jump.

They've barely done anything with Kairi since signing her though :francis:

She's the babyface of NXT girls, but it seems like they're hesitant about her. I know she messed up her early promos (misspelling NXT doing the YMCA thing with her arms once) and they probably think her gimmick is stupid and kiddie, but it's kind of what they signed her up for. What else did they expect from that girl. Her english is wack and this is how she acts. Strange how in one year she's winning an international tournament, yet now she is in the midcard doing nothing beside showing up every now and then with no title shot in sight. But who knows with this company, that boy Almas got a big push after jobbing forever.

If anything, Io signing up could be both good and bad for both of them. Good for worldwide exposure in the long run, but bad in the short term via their lesser pay and likely lower morale... but I only say that because I get the feeling that they're going to have a somewhat disappointing run in the WWE. Io is one of those performers who could get over on their ringwork alone, but the WWE having another Japanese wrestler who can't speak english doesn't sound very promising for them anymore. And they're all sort of marks for themselves these days, shyt, go ask Neville if miles and money is all that matters in the business.

Haven't read the report, but it sounds like she just got tired of the Joshi scene and wanted something new. Wouldn't be surprised if she got sick of it after a few months if she hated it on first sight, though.

The single funniest thing about Asuka's WWE run is how docile she's been behind the scenes, given that she alienated EVERYONE in Japan (she was Low Ki bad, seriously). The Triple Tails fallout was fairly acrimonious, if I remember correctly, so it'll be interesting to see how that dynamic plays out in WWE.
:ohhh: what was going on in Japan?
