And the pièce de résistance...
And the pièce de résistance...
https://www.facebook.com/byron.thomas.735?fref=tsYou know.... a lot of people still hold a grudge over slavery in America. Everyone knows slavery is wrong and was wrong. But where would I be if slavery didn't happen in this country that I love so much. The United States of America is my home and future. People feel we deserve an apology, but what will an apology really do? You and I didn't pick anything or do hard labor against our will. That was the past and if anything, they deserved it, not us. I don't know one white person today, that would love to own a slave. Everything happened for a reason and through my ancestors sacrifices, I AM FREE!!! They paid my ticket to be a citizen of the greatest country on earth. Without Black Americans, America is definitely not the same country it is today. We have contributed a lot and I'm proud of that. People need to look at the positives that came out of the bad. Just think..... we would have never heard the dream, from Dr. Luther King Jr. George Washington's continental army would have suffered a lot more deaths from the small pox virus, but he learned a trick from the blacks in his army. Great entertainers such as Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind & Fire, John Legend, and even Michael Jackson; would have never probably came about. The list goes on and on. I wish the people in my race that complain all the time would see how we've helped America grow. Everyday I'm proud to be a citizen of the United States of America. Without slavery.... I'm most likely not here. We all had to cross over here somehow...
