Funny thing is. She’s racially/culturally/sexually ambiguous in order to appeal to/not piss off the largest swath of gamers possible.
But all that does is make each group feel entitled to their own complaints.
To black people she ain’t black enough.
To asian people she ain’t asian enough
To Gay people she probably won’t be gay enough.
To hetero women she’s probably too gay.
To nasty cac men she’s not middle aged white man enough.
fukked up part is, if she was a white man no one would care and we’d all just buy the game without even thinking about it.
It’s commendable devs like ND want to add some diversity to their games, but at some point they gotta just let go and make the character that works best artistically, instead of trying to please the most people possible and tiptoe around the crazies.
