One of my best friends from the TP moved up to Troy when we were teens, and that's the first time i`ve ever heard that term.

Then I visited him, and that shyt was spot on.

What's even more sad is how run down Albany has become in general. I remember I went there for the Up In Smoke tour in the late 90`s and it wasn't a bad area around the Pepsi Arena.

I went back 2 years ago for a Monday Night Raw, the area around the Pepsi Arena/Tribune Center was a dump man. shyt looked awful compared to 99.

haha, nah I heard of Troy before, I don't go up towards Albany ever really.

I was in my hometown of New Paltz, NY. Was trying to put my sweater around my best friend who just been stabbed, cops knew me and him, they still bum rushed me slammed my head on the car hood tied me up with them plastic zipties and stuffed me in the back of the cop car for 2+ hours while a damn riot ensured afterwards.

I chalk it up to those fukkers not knowing how to handle a real situation being small town cops, but I was never so angry in my life after that happened. Got to court, all charges mysteriously not filed, on damn near everyone they arrested that night

I did a year im jail for a driving on a suspending license when whites getting sentenced the same day as me with 3 DUI's and all types of drug charges were getting probation and community service.

I think the nature of the job makes them constantly suspicious. One of my highschool math teachers said he had to stop being a police officer because of the way it made him change his thinking and the way he treated other people. I got out of my buddies car about a year ago at the student apartments where there are always cops and we got questioned for like 10 minutes because I got out and there was a Wiz Khalifa song playing in the car. Cops said I smelled like weed and asked if I had been smoking or if we had weed. I hadn't smoked that entire day and neither of us had weed I was just like told them no and asked if we were free to go and they let us, but they were trying to search my friends car and everything for no reason.

the idea that the stop/frisk rate should correspond to the crime rate is absurd...nypd would likely stop multiple individuals [if they look suspicious or fit the description] for a crime with a reported single perpetrator...the policy would be utterly useless with an unknown number of assailants...i suspect the stop and frisk policy would not be amended to reflect a significant drop in crime,,,historically high crime rates would be cited as the reason for continued use of the policy...the nypd would even take the credit if the crime rate in those neighborhoods dropped to 0...truth is the nypd is eternally suspicious of black or brown skin people...

you can look at it that way but i think the stats the article brings up are mind boggling and nobody is disputing them, i think it should make every one pause regardless of what you think of the police tactics

what also should make people pause is that there are victims to these crime and most of the time the victims are black

it was a friend of mine who was a female, hired jew lawyer recommended by some c00ns, who advised her to take a plea when there's video evidence of the officer being aggressor to a small woman, who had no idea this was an officer because he was off duty and decided to participate in road rage.

The judge refused to believe the officer would do such a thing, because she emotionally stated in court that she knew him personally, shyt was a fiasco.

By time I learned of this and sent her to my lawyer it was too late, because she took the plea and was charged with a felony, that is on her record.

We lived in the town our whole lives, and went out every weekend 2 times, they got to know us from just being around town.
