The party has actively asked progressive politicians not to get too involved in some of the purple races and issues. I assume because they think that the Squad are polarizing and would do more harm than good (I disagree). Either way, I have doubts that they'd send anyone progressive to apply pressure because the party leadership doesn't view them as helping...again, I don't really agree with that but it's how they've strategized.

I was being funny more than anything because AOC is his antithesis on climate and with the union workers going public with their position on him effectively walking away from BBB, he's in a leverageable spot.

They are afraid of letting progressives get too much stage time because they fear having to counter the "radical left" and "socialist" attacks the other side are going to hurl at them.
