Whether Manchin switches parties or steps down in the future makes no difference to Democrats’ ability to push their legislation

He’s as good as it will ever get for Democrats in West Virginia. :yeshrug:

This whole thing was over once the infrastructure bill was passed. Manchin was just running out the clock and now Biden and the progressives have egg on their face

The White House releasing a statement now against him is a little late and should have been done from the get-go.

The reality is the conversation was always focused on the price tag rather than the contents and the public, as a whole, doesn’t give a shyt so good luck shaming him. West Virginia will continue to vote for him :yeshrug:

Supposedly they're doing Voting Rights next year. On the 1st sign of bullshyt, might as well rain hell on him.

All that effort they put out for him they might as well try to get a republican or 2. The added bonus is they get to say the reached across the aisle.

There's a zero percent chance that any Republican would do that (and risk Trump's wrath) so that would just be a waste of time and effort.

He's already said he's not going to support any of that, nor removing the filibuster.

Manchin got the infrastructure portion piece he wanted and finessed the Progressives on everything else :mjlol:

At some point we need to seriously discuss how 'progressives' in Congress are no different from establishment Democrats.

They're every bit as weak, ineffectual and bad at politics as people complain about with establishment Dems.
