I have not seen this level of giddiness from the DC media swamp since Trump was in office. Giving play-by-play like they're Al Michaels on Monday Night Footballl. Meanwhile the only thing they ever tell us about the bill is the cost.

The media and this site are two very different things. If I’m in a planning session we discuss our gripes but externally we sell the plan. And you know there’s two different critiques on this board. One is substantive but the bigger one is always about Democrats being bad salesmen and the media also going along with the right wing talking points for theater purposes. You conflate the two and often end up defending the latter - which almost no one does - because you disagree with the former.Same as this site. Do I love this bill? No. Is there good in this bill? Yes. Did Democrats do a good job of fighting off right wing attacks on the bill? No. A combination of the White House and members of their caucus speaking out in public.

I don't conflate either. I just set my expectations differently. Largely in part because the party's leadership is the same.
I don't expect them to change their messaging because they have become successful (attaining power in politics) with these methods.
I'd be more inclined to beat the dead horse if we elected folks who haven't been in congress longer than I've been alive to leadership positions.
