There are posts on here that tell you what's in the bill and why some people are upset, but you decided to concern troll. Do some reading and find out. That's what people do, but you decided not too.

There's 1480 posts before yours. It's unrealistic to ask anyone to read thru all of those.

Plus, if politicians want us to care about a bill, to pressure their reps and senators to pass said bill, then they need to focus on that and not the price. Every week if not every day, tell us what's in the bill and how it helps us.

I always say come out and make the case, but they aren't good at simple slogans.

Also, Biden had no interest in advocating for BBB. He didn't fight against it, but the man hid in the White House the last three months.
I mean he came out and said I got 48 Senators and 2 people are holding everything up. You couldn’t be stronger than that.

Then you google. This is the internet.

There is a post that was about 30 posts before the prior one that laid out what's in the plan from David Dayen.

I agree with that, but politicians ain't worried about that stuff. They only speak Capitol Hill media, which is comprised of some of the stupidest people in media who are interested in career advancement themselves, either in politics or in media.

They did. It was the ops that focused on the price. This is where people get annoyed. Less engaged people telling engaged people what they did wrong without any knowledge of what’s happening. The entire reason for the back and forth was because the conservative Democrats came out to kill it. Progressives tried to focus on what was in it for three months.

That's fine, but I think Biden needed to do what Bernie did in going around the country to sell the importance of both bills. He chose not to. Go around the country and say how the bill will help and call out the two senators who were holding it up. The news cycle moves fast and that statement didn't last more than a day or two. He didn't fight for this.

This deal was made so Biden could get a win, core progressives could vote no to hold their position. It's the only reason Pelosi brought it to a vote because they knew how many R's they could safely whip and keep everything in tact.

Everyone in here keeps parroting that the progressives caved but Jayapal is much smarter than that. Some type of deal has been struck, we'll have to wait and see. They gave moderates an out on the CBO score, while letting them die on their hill of it will potentially add too much to the deficit, if it's above your thresholds don't vote for it - otherwise you have to.

Don't be surprised if the CBO score comes back favorable.

fukk you and fukk your assumptions. I was to lazy to read 10 pages. I asked for cliffs. My bad for not reading. For that I apologize. However, you totally misread my questions and are making assumptions. You can fukk off.

Let me get out of this thread. Didn't mean to distract.

That’s fair.

There’s far more calculations and back door wheeling and dealing than we can know. We will probably never know who are the real heroes, villains, and grey area actors.

I actually think BBB is in a better position because there is an expectation of passing something… no guarantees on that of course and no guarantees it wont be totally neutered.

If he had promised student debt relief AOC, Omar, etc. would have voted yes. Most likely whatever promises Biden made pertained to BBB.
I think they whipped up enough votes to allow them to vote in a way that keeps them in the good graces of their constituents without tanking the bill.
