A group of independent promotions, as well as Highspots.com and WWNLive.com which is affiliated with Evolve and Dragon Gate USA, are all working together for what they hope to be a new annual event in conjunction with WrestleMania.

The first annual WrestleCon will take place 4/5 to 4/7 at the Meadowlands Expo Center in Seacaucus, NJ. The building is three miles away from MetLife Stadium, where WrestleMania takes place.i

Dragon Gate USA, Evolve, CHIKARA Pro, SHIMMER and Combat Zone Wrestling are all working together. The idea is, with so many wrestling fans from around the world congregating to the New York/New Jersey area for WrestleMania, that all of the promotions are set to put on their biggest matches of the year.

The announced schedule is:

Friday, April 5

Evolve at 4 p.m.

Combat Zone Wrestling at 8 p.m.

Saturday, April 6

SHIMMER at Noon

CHIKARA Pro at 4 p.m.

Dragon Gate USA at 8 p.m.

Plus an expo from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sunday, April 7

Dragon Gate USA at 1 pm.

The expo from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Dragon Gate USA has already announced its traditional WrestleMania trios match for at least one of the shows.

Ummm, why did it take so long for this to happen? They love Japan so damn much, they couldn't see that collaboration saved a major company from extinction over there, and just done this years ago?

Nice that it's happening, just baffling that it too so long.

CZW has actually been producing decent stuff since DJ Hyde took over. Not great stuff like its adherents will tell you. But decent stuff.

Ive kept up somewhat. Its def better than 07-08 but its still not a company to be held with the others mentioned. I never see much momentum. Younger vs Sami should have alot more emphasis than it does.

He actually had a developmental deal a few years ago, but they let him go.

I wouldn't mind seeing him get another shot though. He's really better suited for WWE than the indies anyway.

N/h but give the dude a Magic Mike gimmick. Get that female demographic poppin off. One of my main issues with WWE is how they dont capitalize on trends when they're hot in the streets.
