Shouldn't have bothered making it without Will Smith
Will was GOAT during that time-frame, in typical Roland Emmerich fashion the movie is mindlessly entertaining but really fukking stupid. Like Will can just drive an alien spacecraft with no training movie is fukking retarded. Still fun as hell to watch. Will smith really was everything to a young millenial. He dropped bad boys, ID4 AND mib back to back to back.. with the last 2 both dropping for july 4th. nowadays that weekend sucks.
granted the original ID4 doesn't hold up now that i'm not 10 anymore as @Sensitive Blake Griffin points out, but i still have love for it
just go by the audience score. the audience has it at 75% which is about right. It's pretty obvious why critics would hate this movie.RT came out in 98. I do not trust any ratings from movies before 98 cause people like to come in and add revisionist reviews. "ID4" was critically accliammed and commerically successful but RT acting like it was "Average", Stop.
I was vacationing in D.C. at the time the film came out and it was sold out for days. I couldn't see it until I got back home.At my theater too. It was something nobody ever saw.
That's some bullshyt. fukk that movie.OMG @ WHAT THEY DID TO WILL CHARACTER (SO DISRESPECTFUL)
According to a timeline found on the viral site, "While test piloting the ESD's first alien hybrid fighter, an unknown malfunction causes the untimely death of Col. Hiller. Hiller's valor in the War of '96 made him a beloved global icon whose selfless assault against the alien mothership lead directly to the enemy's defeat. He is survived by his wife Jasmine and his son Dylan.
