It's very sad and very real. The broom used to sweep it under the rug is very special too because no one talks about it and barely anything ever changes. It's like these cases are happening on some alternative universe almost, and I bet that's exactly how the victims (boys and girls) feel about it too whenever they can't help but remember.

Worst fact is that these people have to act normal around the people who molest them 'cause black families can be so close (on weekends, b-days, bbqs and special occasions).

I've only talked to victims, not to people that did it and it's easier to talk to a female about it so obviously more people would be comfortable with telling me.

As a non African American (Mexican) I think the thread title is stupid. This shyt goes on in every race and culture. To single it out does send a negitive vibe toward African Americans. Why not make it about everyone

Incest yes...that's because there's a perception that rural whites take part in consensual incest more than other groups. 'Kissing cousins' and such.

Child molestation/family rape (which most or all of this thread seems to be about)? No. That has never been attributed to any racial demographic and I think it's for the best.

This thread however, from the headline/thread title itself, to the basic idea that we should talk about a horrible thing like child molestation under a racial context at all, is incredibly irresponsible if you know anything about the history of anti-black propaganda in this country and how it works.

Yes, we should stop child molestation completely. But we can do it in a more responsible, less racially-inflammatory fashion. Blacks have been conceptualized as sexually irresponsible and destructive enough.

yeah, I notice whenever you bring up incest in the black community (like in for colored girls & the color purple) it's looked at as shytting on black men but it happens a lot, not saying that every black man does it because there are plenty that don't but more than likely you know multiple black men that are guilty of it.

breh, I don't even understand why people are coming in here arguing about it, why are they so against talking about it? Kinda OT but there was a scene on Antoine Fisher that just reminds me of how all these boys are losing their virginity early and these female teachers having sex with students. I don't think male victims of sexual abuse get enough attention. Especially black boys.

Sexual abuse is just something most people don't like to talk about. We know it goes on but it's ignored unless it happens to someone close to you.

What can we do to stop or prevent it?
