We all know TFA was LUKE warm (pun intended) but nobody completely jumped ship yet, especially with that epic ending. TLJ could’ve made TFA better the same way ESB made ANH better, but naw it completely fukked everything up and honestly didn’t even make sense.

What can episode IX do to restore the feeling?

Bring Luke outta his coma (retcon his death)

Do something with the knights of ren

They absolutely can’t let this go to waste

IMO there's nothing they can do in IX that will please some of the core starwars fans. Unless they literally just play part 4/5 again they won't be happy. Even George Lucas said he can't do it. :hubie: They are a lost cause

They can however, still make a good movie and conclude the series well if they put heavy focus on giving Finn something relevant to do, delving more into Rey's character (not her piloting or force abilities, her actual character) , and develop someone into a formidable, vader level villain. We seen that Rey is not miss goody 2 shoes and is lowkey interested in the darkside of the force, and Kylo Ren is wishy washy as to his true allegience but will pop anyone on sight without any remorse. They need to do something with that. Give the main characters more time instead of adding side plots which take up like 30 minutes of the movie.

It can’t unless they add another movie to this storyline.

TLJ just really sucked the life out of this. You have to have a massive 3rd wave feminist viewpoint to be excited about anything.

The entire premise of the story doesn’t make sense. Rey only met Kylo once. He killed her friend and almost killed another friend... why would she be interested in “saving” him?

Nothing interesting about the resistance or whatever the fukk they’re called.

Kylo, Poe, Finn.... nothing

Like I said they would need at least another film to make things interesting.

They’re probably not going to do any of this and even if they did, it would feel weird all in one movie

I would say just make a solid movie. Doesn't have to be great or classic.

But JJ got some work to do. :francis:

They got a get a good villian or something.

Make sh*t interesting.

First Order is as big of a joke as the resistance.

The red-headed fake Tarkin and emo Ren ain't cutting it.

And emo Ren is soft. He can't beat Rey. He is nowhere near her level.

They destroyed Finn's relevance and respect in the movie.

BB-8?

Maybe JJ tries to make ROTJ 2.0 with Episode IX?

Can’t be saved. TLJ did so much damage that it will be impossible to salvage the characters and story while also coming to a conclusion in the last movie of the trilogy. All three of the main OGs are gone..Kylo ended both movies looking weak as fukk, Finn is :snoop:, the mysterious powerful villain got killed with ease, basically if you’re not Rey you’re fukked. Say what you want about TFA but it did set the trilogy up in a decent spot but all of that was scrapped with the last one. There’s nothing that interests me going forward with the story and I’m a huge Star Wars stan.
