In your opinion how can Episode IX revive Star Wars?

This has to be the first time in film history a movie series needs to be “revived” after making a billion dollars

Luke skywalker is one of the most iconic characters in movie history. The last Jedi made that much money strictly off how the force awakens ended. Rey finding luke on the remote island where he went awol. Luke pulls down the iconic Jedi hood while Rey is handing him his light saber, then boom it ends

Rey doesn't even make sense. She's stronger and took to the Force faster than every Jedi that existed and there's nothing to her background to explain it. The Force Projection scene with Luke was cool but, there should have been a scene where Luke fought and destroyed some nikkas. Maybe the Force Projection scene should have come earlier in the movie, and been a preview to the final fight between him and Kylo at the end.

The force projection scene was legit awesome...then you realize Luke won't actually fight anyone after that, and using this unseen force power kills him

He even says "See ya around kid", so I'm thinking ok dope mind game to play with the boy, Luke really is that nikka. Next time he gonna really show him how he gets down. Then he collapses and dies. Instantly turned a dope moment to absolute trash

Trilogy is done unless Abrams has the balls to either time travel and wipe out everything in Ep 8, or straight up resurrect Luke, Anakin, Snoke and Sidious. It would have to be something totally drastic and spectacular to overcome this series

That is how inept, the decision making layer of star wars is right now.

That's what I was thinking too.....like okay, that's just the pre-game to the actual fight later on in the movie but, that was the fight

Only thing I think they could maybe do is Time Skip a few years, show shyt is fukked up with the bad guys winning. introduce new characters and maybe kill some younger characters on screen. and maybe expand the film series so the prior two films aren’t a trilogy but part of a 4 part series ending in Start Wars 10.

Or

Still time skip but do other movies set in the universe in modern times (like rogue 1 but current) and build up the war and Kyle Ren as subsidiary characters into those movies leading to episode 9.

Basically it’s gonna take multiple movies with interesting plots and less push for selling toys to dig out this whole. Like it’s not even about saving the next movie Disney is going to have to invest to save the IP.
