I listened to a lot of RZA's work yesterday. It's kind of strange. He had a mix of light to no drums or really hard drums, and a lot in between. I don't think I realized how versatile his drums were. I thought of him as mostly a guy whose loops or chops did most of the heavy lifting, but I slept on his drums (or lack thereof in the beats where that applies).
