Yeah this is one of the joints Q-Tip went in and redid the drums on. Up North Trip, Survival of the Fittest, Trife Life, and Eye For an Eye were songs where Havoc did the main beat and then Q-Tip put new drums on that blew you straight out the frame.

Pete Rock drums still bang very hard. Even harder than in the 90s just of punchy-ness but his SP had a more round sound.
The hardest drums are usually those square sounding drums but round drums that bang hard at the same time are the best.
I think Dilla has the best drums ever though. (and he integrated claps etc)

Damn. Good thread. I gotta think on it. Guy says Havoc. RZA and Pete has some of my favorite drums though.
honestly, rza's drums never really stood out to me
