Hawks have said from the jump that they want defensive minded veterans to round out this team, specifically on the 2nd unit. Dunn is gonna be at SG, Rondo backup PG so I doubt you see them on the floor a lot together. But this team won’t be pushed around like they have been the past few years

Also depth will be needed more than ever this year. You know players will possibly get sick at some point, plus they playing like 72 game in 142 nights. Quality depth will be needed this year and shouldn'tbe takenfor granted.

He’s a below average defender, is unable to create offense for himself or others (he needs a crafty/creative ball handler to facilitate for him to get his shot off). He’s a sub par shooter off the dribble too. Plus his lapse in judgment with the PED suspension killed last season
Positives is that he’s young, is an amazing athlete and is a good and improving shooter. But he’s limited in what he can do offensively for himself and others and a non factor on defense. Why would we pay max for that?

Trae is gonna get paid. We’ll see what happens when Cam & DeAndre are up for their deals. John could get paid here too but not for a max IMO
IMO a max player is someone you can tell before the game to go out there and win this bytch. John Collins is not that. John Collins has to be your 3rd best player behind two legit max guys.
