See someone like Nas also benefited but unlike Jay, Nas already had his own lane even when BIG was alive so he was going to be set either way.

Nas didn't benefit in anyway from Biggies death. If anything, Nas would have gained more from him being alive especially if Big would have went full out shinny suit mode that came in full blown that he helped father. Big would have caught so much heat.

Subliminals disgusting, even more disgusting when you dissing a dead man. If you gonna snake around like that atleast say man's name loud and clear

You could make the same argument for Pac because he threw sublims at a dead Stretch twice

"Holla at Me" in general is one. He also had a line on "Against All Odds" where he said "And the nikka that was down for me, rest the dead/Switched sides, guess his new friends wanted him dead".
The second line isnt a diss really but yeah you may have a point about Holla at Me. I didnt know Stretch died before he wrote that song though. Always sounded like he was talking to him while alive

It's hard to tell. Pac started recording for AEOM in October '95 and Stretch was killed on November 30th of '95. I guess there was a good chance that he may have still been alive but I guess we'll never know.

Yeah they said he recorded nearly all of AEOM in a matter of days. So yeah, he probably made that song while he was alive. In fact it makes sense -- him referencing Stretch on Against All Odds. Pac never struck me as that kinda guy to be on the type of sh*t BIG was with Long Kiss. Disgusting song, really.

As an east coast dude who fed into the Source, VIBE etc (I didn't realize how much of an east coast bias those mags had back then), I really thought Pac was on some bullsh*t. Lost a lot of respect for BIG as I got older but what's done is done.

I kinda lost respect for biggie finding out he recorded this after Pacs demise and to add insult to injury performed it in LA like as if he wasn't going to face any repercussions .. classic regardless tho

On another note it's kind of eerie and coincidental how Sway interviewed both Biggie & Pac right before their deaths :patrice:

Sway has the answers
