I don't disagree. But I think you and I both know the Derek Chauvin types and police would be much more emboldened to abuse their power at a much higher level.
Project 2025 explicitly calls for denying federal funding to local police that don’t use stop-and-frisk for example. Things are bad enough as it is. But I absolutely do not want to live in a country where every local law enforcement around the country is financially incentivized to harass nikkas
Not to mention any chance for future police reform is still a possibility under Kamala. It'll be 0 under Trump
Add to that Trump will get rid of all federal consent decrees with police departments around the nation, which mandates troubled police departments (those with histories of racial discrimination, brutality, biased policing, etc.) reform or face financial consequences. The decrees were enforced when Obama was in office. Trump essentially voided them when he got in office. Once Biden was elected, he re-established the decrees.
Then we got to look at the DOJ. In the Eric Gardner case (guy choked to death by police over selling cigarettes in NY, "I can't breathe"), Obama's DOJ pursued federal charges against the police officer who killed him. As soon as Trump got in office, he immediately had is Attorney General have the case dismissed. There would be no more federally charging police under Trump.
Plus, the whole case to dismantle Affirmative Action, Trump had his DOJ enter as plantiffs along with the Asian students. Biden withdrew DOJ support from the case.
