I don't underhand the post nor the thread?
Where does it indicate that he's not Indy or that he signed away any rights :what:

Cat posts an article about a dude having a manager, whose artists loves her, bolds some random lines and then says "be like Chance brehs" and people start talking about plants :mjlol: . Indie artisrs don't have managers and booking agents now? where is that damn coli drop

@ bolded U just had someone in Raury who like chance caters to you "positive music only" nikkas. nikka was getting publicity and funny enough was on Chances album to this year.

Theres nothing wrong with having connects. But when you parade yourself as a rarefeat for indie artist and what many like u should strive to be it's a problem.

@2nd bolded:mjlol: at people love it. The shyt has probably not even sold 100k as its first week sales was only 38 k. Considering all the love and cosigning he been getting 38 is not impressive, infact that's poor sales. hell ATCQ did better than him.

When did I ever say I was a Positive Music Only nikka? I can appreciate multiple different styles of what's around but I said, there's a ton of what's already available, and Chance is different from that. I'll give you Raury, but consider how different Raury is from even Chance. The music was good, I personally thought it was great. Did it sell? No. But, I still enjoyed it. Just because Raury flopped doesn't mean everyone is doomed to that road though. The fact that he was even able to get the amount of attention that he did is impressive, considering the climate of how rap is and what he makes as an artist.

Do I think it's going to be extremely common to go pull a Chance and have the same level of success right now? No, because for one thing, that would be assuming the artists in question are willing to do a lot of the heavy lifting... Which, many aren't. That's why they go sign a major. I do think that given certain circumstances and with the drive and hustle of an artist, combined with an excellent team, an artist can go very far. Strange Music is an independent label that's doing fine, so it's perfectly doable. Not easy, but doable.

As for your second point, you're cherry picking. Yes, it sold 38k first week, but that was first an Apple Exclusive until May 27th. That plays a huge factor, considering people have Spotify which is much more accessible, and Tidal. Also keep in mind that the tape was on Datpiff for a day, then it was taken down. Nobody's expecting Chance to go do Drake numbers when he's not even established like that, but that's not the point. Plus, the tape in itself has gotten rave reviews all across the board, AND it's also nominated for Best Rap Album at the Grammys, the first mixtape to ever be qualified for that. I don't think we can say that's an unimpressive achievement at all.

If you believe that Chance isn't signed at this point youre dumb as hell. First of all why would a major label let a totally indie artist get the access that he has to their platforms w/o them getting anything at all, and a black one at that. Chance is an experiment for the new music industry,. major labels are trying to figure out how to make money without selling music since it has become devalued. Thus they found a artist with potentially mainstream appeal in the most popular genre in modern times that also has some pop appeal to be their guinea pig. You can tell by his last "mixtape" they were trying to get everyone to listen to it he had the most popular artists of 2016 sans Drake on that shyt. Use your head.

I brought up Raury as an example of a "positive" conscious type artist who was being given publicity, there diffences don't matter as rappers who share the same lane let alone same sub-genre tend to share the same fanbases.

No its not gonna gon be common to be Chance. Unless there is a independent artist that is connected and has labels secretly backing him like Chance has(which they are but probably not to an extent like Chance)

.

Basically. I don’t really care about this stuff it’s just interesting to me the obsession to discredit dudes wins

Ive known chance was an industry plant for years and I genuinely disliked him because of how fake his comeup was, but at this point im not even mad because the music he makes i'd rather that be shoved to the forefront by the powers that be than some of the other demonic shyt these rappers make

chance makes that positive music:wow:
He's bad for us too and being used as a democratic tool.
His tranny broad is him trying to help push lgbt issues,to hell with PLANT THE RAPPER

You know what I don't get @The HONORABLE SKJ is how more nikkas ain't into the business side of this shyt. These nikkas claim to be bosses and shyt but the real bosses is Doug Morris, John McClain, Jimmy Iovine, Clive Davis, and Tommy Mottola. These guys are the real movers, shakers and power players.
