Right, but that's what I said, it's a perception based deal.

Didn't pascal get a similar deal? I feel like he could've just stayed, idk.

He's good

But he's not 2nd/3rd best player on your team for a deep playoff run good. Which is what you're wanting a player to be on a contract like this.
Max players are getting $60 a year now, if you think the 2nd best player on a championship team is only making $35 million a year idk what to tell you.

35 million a year for Quickley?

25 million a year I could see but 35 seems too rich. I guess they’re paying that extra 10 million a year based off the hope he maximizes his potential but this is a crazy deal for a guy who’s never averaged 20 ppg

$35 million would make him the 37th highest paid player this upcoming season and that number will probably get lower once free agency ends. By year 3 of that deal he probably won’t even be top 50 highest paid in the league

This is true, it still feels like they are tying up too much of the cap into IQ and Barnes but it ain't my team :yeshrug:

The old days are just that, the old days. Here's the scale now for nikkas that are late:

60M AAV - Franchise guys
50M AAV - all stars
40M AAV - starters
30M AAV - quality role players

That's the market

it's crazy. Scottie barnes is good but 1 all-star appearance gets him the max? Similar case with cunningham as well
It's the standard rookie max extension all good rookies get. He only gets $270M if he makes all NBA/DPOY, otherwise its 5/225.

Better question, what exactly should Toronto be spending that money on? :lupe:

Nic Claxson just got $25 mil a year from BK and what he does for the Nets means so much more than what Quickley does for the Raptors.

But hey... It ain't my money. :hubie:
