most of the last season was shyt. still doesn't change the fact that it was an entertaining show. to this day it's influence is felt on TV and it's still spawning poor clones of it. It wasn't the first show to have a poor final season.
I agree the show was piff and it is still one of my favorite shows of all time, hence why I am still so disappointed by how it ended I suppose.

Yes, they were. You misunderstood his post then repeated what he said. All the people that met up in the church in the finale were dead. That was the purgatory. They then walked into the light.
He didn't make the classic mistake of thinking they were dead the whole time.

this. they needed to stick to either a science or magic when it came to explaining the island. all the psedo-science to go with pure magic was basura and made zero sense. the whole jacob/mib explanation is what deaded the show for many people. shyt made no sense.

they woulda been better off just saying it was some nanotech swarm created by the others. the jacob/mib story was the death of the show for me.

Yeah the nanobots was by far the best theory and I believe was the original idea for smokie, but it was theorized early by fans and I think they changed it. Dumb move.
The best overall theory I every read was during season 2 or 3 and was about the island being an experimental military facility. There was a lot to the theory and it made sense.
