I love Diplomatic Immunity. But that's a group joint though.

I said MC, as in solos. So I'm not counting the groups that did it.

You know Pac stans ain’t gone like this part beca you know they gone run in here saying AEOM was mostly classic tracks but that album had a lot of filler and awkward sexual skits on it. That album didn’t need to be a double disk either

True.

Pac was my guy, but like you said, AEOM shouldn't have been a double either.

He did the double to get off Death Row quicker. They signed him for three albums, so he wanted to do the double to get two out of the way. It was part of his agreement to pay back the bail that was posted for him. It was the weakest out of his first 5 albums, to me. And the only one I couldn't listen to straight through. Way too much filler.

Album sounds like gold compared to some of the trash that’s popular today. Maybe trim a few songs off but it is not bad.

Jay created this album as damage control for every claim Nas made from "Ether". Blueprint 2 is an album is the sound of someone defeated making concessions all while trying to save face. There are good moments onbthe album, but when you have these songs, it was painfully obvious Jay was on the ropes trying to convince the world that he was invincible:

A Dream- response to how much of Biggie's rhymes gon come out your fat lips

The Watcher- response to who's the best: Pac, Nas, and Big. Ain't no best. Jay grabs Rakim and Dre to claim that they along with him make up the holy trinity of rap

'03 Bonnie & Clyde- The first ever Jay Z single that pandered to women. Definitely a response to " you only concerned with dissing women"

Excuse Me Miss- same as above. The difference is this was actually a good song even with some cringe lines "only ones moving units is Em, Pimp Juice, and us"

Some People Hate + Blueprint 2 = direct responses to "Ether", which is Jay basically admitting he lost.

bytches & Sisters- Another response to "you only concerned with dissing women".

The rest of the album is Jay doing this balancing act of trying to make futuristic sounding Hip Hop with none of the results hitting like a "nikka What, nikka Who" or something left field with nothing hitting like "Big Pimpin". The best songs were some of the stronger Just Blaze production on the album.

Yall gotta cut him some slack
ether was fresh in his soul
no one would be able to make good music under those circumstances.

lmao nikka did announce he would be retiring after this garbage album though

Yeah AEOM is EASILY Pac’s weakest out of his first 4 albums imo

Both Biggie & Pac done doubles to get off their contracts quicker. Biggie was working on getting off Bad Boy

Life After death definitely the best double CD in hip hop. I love both artists

There’s a very good 14-15 track album buried in the sea of mess of that double disc. Even the BP 2.1 or whatever release wasn’t good. Jay just couldn’t help himself but to still include some of the stinky tracks on there.
