Unless your willing to pay over 100k for a new car your getting junk and wasting your time.

Actually the opposite. Almost all new cars these days are incredibly reliable. Grab like a cheap CR-V or Hyundai, or whatever. Will last you a couple decades.

A decent amount of those over 100k cars have lower rates of reliability and are expensive to maintain. Range Rovers, BMW, etc.

no doubt. mclaren's cost a fortune and they are NOTORIOUSLY unreliable. so there's not a direct relationship between price and reliability when it comes to cars.

it’s 10:30 am on a Friday. Of course it’s gonna be empty. Come back in a Sunday afternoon

there are EXACTLY ZERO dealerships in illinois open on a sunday afternoon. as a matter of fact, car dealerships are NOT allowed to be open on sundays. 18 states don't allow car sales on sundays due to an archaic law to this day.

Interesting. But yeah, most people buy cars on weekends or in the evening.

Blue Laws? Bergen County NJ also has some kind of law where non essential stores can't be open on Sundays.

Like I said, I'm in the dealership getting my 2015 car serviced, and I went to the showroom and it's a damn ghost town. the sales people just walking around aimlessly or they in they offices. I don't see one person looking at any of the car inventory. hell, there's not even anyone outside looking at the used cars.

yet there are plenty of people sitting in the waiting room with me getting their cars serviced.

so I decide to look at the new/used cars, and the 2025 version of my car is 52K. a used 2023 version of my car is like $35K. which explains why no one is looking at the cars. at these prices combined with high interest rates, it's obvious why everyone is content with taking care of the car they already have.

:ucku: that car payment. :ucku: those interest rates. the term riding to the wheels falls off, and since I just bought 4 new tires like 6 months ago, those wheels shouldn't be falling off anytime soon.

I did sit in a few of the new cars, and that smell........:ohlawd: it was glorious.
They got that scent in air freshener.

I'd still be driving my 2013 if it wasn't a 🍋. I still wanna get it fixed to have a third whip tho

Man been car shopping with my girl getting numbers. She use to have a X5 so we looking for another SUV. She’s trying to lease Mercedes glc 300 going for lowest with a down payment around $700. Highest was the Porsche Macan EV joint $1400 depending how much you put down. It’s rough out here and it’s only going to get worse with these tariffs.

Car buyers' window for dodging tariff price hikes is about to close, experts warn
