I'm in the car dealership up servicing my 10 year old car and the showroom looks sad as hell :sadbron:

Over 100k for a Infiniti or Lexus is nasty work
CaGkl3o.png

You realize the LS, LC500, and LX have been around that 100k mark for years right?

Low-key the Camry now is a steal for the price that it is (if you can find one). So is the Crown Signia if you don't mind the wagon shape :sas2:

These dealerships are dependent on vehicle servicing because they don't make nearly as much on sells as most think after you account for the floor plans that they have to pay to the banks. That's why they try extra hard to get you to buy a warranty, in house financing, and their products after you agree on a price. I just got done paying off my truck well ahead of time, and they've been hitting me up to see if I was interested in a new one like anybody in their right mind is signing back up for those payments unless they have to. The margins for profit are getting even tighter :mjlol:

The service department has ALWAYS kept the lights on at dealerships.

Man, those new QX80s are :wow:

But the price:huhldup:
Yeah, the price is bonkers, but with that Infiniti depreciation and the fact that they are not selling and dealerships are already discounting them, it may be a legit ride on the used market. I sat in the third row of that black one in the showroom…im 6’2” and a big mf. I had the second row in a comfortable position for me and I had a plenty of room in that third row with maybe an inch of space from the 2nd row seat back and my knees. Thighs on the seat bottoms like sitting in a chair. Heated seats, power reclining, air vents and usb-c charging back there, too. Second row seats are heated/cooled and have massage with individual biometric temp control. This would be a goat travel ride for 6.

Yep, the LX700 is about $125k now and the Lexus dealership near me says the rich folks are clamoring for that LX700h Overtrail off-road version that about to hit the ground for $130k…salesman said they were gonna tack on a $30k ADM because of the demand.:why:

oil changes are lowkey a good deal, at the dealerships

i assumed it's because they want to look it over, and find shyt that's wrong with it, to scare you into repairing

Correct. Sometimes they'll let you know if there's a software update or special coverage for your vehicle if you're having an issue.

In terms of your DTS you better hold onto it since the only cars that size now are Japanese (Lexus) and German

30k cars are like what 15k cars used to be. That's inflation for you. We have Nostalgia about what prices used to be and think they should be the same. Prices rise, life is to short not to enjoy it. Pay your bills, save, and enjoy what you have left. When I am done paying off this car, I got my eye on a SL 63 or GT 63 :takedat:

I can buy a new car in cash today if I wanna, but I would never just out of principle alone

In 2025, a new car in America is a data harvest device

in 2025, that same car in China is surveillance device

not to mention designs have been homogenized by government safety regulations … everything is a “crossover” :wrist: and sedans gotta be at the same panel height as the crossovers

also the UI of each car is the same across the entire brand, so a $25k car has the same user experience as a $90K car in many meaningful instances
