I've never understood that shyt. People that make half of what I make going out getting 50-60K cars. I got mine when interest rates were low and I refused to spend over 20K. I've since paid it off and been rolling with no car payment the last 4 years.

The worst example was a friend of mine who was having medical issues. I'm telling her don't spend too much cause she gone want that lower payment if she has to stop working. She got a 57K SUV. Then we talked later and she said she regretted it. I'm thinking she wishes she had gone cheaper. Nope she wishes she had got the more expensive SUV that she really wanted. Meanwhile she struggling barely able to pay her bills SMH.

Yeah I had to go in a few months back and had the same experience. Hard as hell not to cop one of those new joints. I'm still pushing a 2015 car I got in 2017. Mileage is still at 80K and no major problems. One of the benefits of working from home is not putting a lot of miles on the car.

Sounds exactly like the Infiniti dealership I just came from dropping off my wife’s suv for some work. Also 12 years old and gonna keep it forever. They have so many of the new QX80s that they gave me one as a loaner. Beautiful, beautiful ride but at $98k for this one that’s 2 levels down from the top version and Infiniti depreciation? Yeah, ain’t no one buying these new.

Some people are insecure and feel the need to try to prove their success. I had that argument with my boy. He was driving an Acura for a while and that became his whole identity to the point his passwords included Acura in em. When it came time to get a new car he was trying to get me to get a BMW or Benz because I'm doing well at life and should have a car that reflects that. I told him I don't give a fukk if others think I'm doing well, there is way better shyt I can do with that extra money I'm saving on a car payment. Same friend that complains when I'm traveling because he wishes he could do the same.

These dealerships are dependent on vehicle servicing because they don't make nearly as much on sells as most think after you account for the floor plans that they have to pay to the banks. That's why they try extra hard to get you to buy a warranty, in house financing, and their products after you agree on a price. I just got done paying off my truck well ahead of time, and they've been hitting me up to see if I was interested in a new one like anybody in their right mind is signing back up for those payments unless they have to. The margins for profit are getting even tighter
