the one thing I've learned from being poor is that poor people usually find the money to get shyt they feel they need.

Exactly....If I'm poor with 5 kids I'm going to buy whats affordable. A 3 litter of soda cost 1 buck at Dollar Tree and a carton of juice is 2 bucks. So thats 2 three litters of soda for the price of 1 juice.

Why wouldn't i reply to the post, you sent me a message that you wanted me to read it. LOL
You seem like you are confused and angry. LOL

I didn't send you no damn message. :dahell:

Along with your random claim saying that I "wrote a mini paper" supporting white supremacy (but still haven't explained what the hell you're talking about :heh:) this the second time today that you've said something about me that made NO damn sense.

Wait, aren't you the same fool who started telling people that I had told you I was Indian and that I live in Canada? :russ:

You stay making up shyt out of nowhere. :mjlol:

Or just put lemon in cold filtered water and don't buy any juice. If you don't get your kids hooked on sugar they won't be hooked on sugar.

LOL. So when those same kids go to school for free lunch (because thats how a lot of poor familys feed their kids by sending them to school for breakfast and lunch) and their options are those fruit punch cups u gonna tell the kids dont drink them?

U see what I mean by the coli's unrealistic options when it comes to dealing with the poor.

But you get literally zero benefit out of that soda. It does nothing positive for your kids at all. You might as well throw the dollar in the toilet - at least then it won't predispose your kids to diabetes.

I ain't blaming people for those choices cause, like I said, it's government subsidies that make junk food cheap while healthy food costs a ton. Corporate agriculture is a huge issue too, makes mass-produced crap expensive while organic food costs a ton.

But we should take the time to educate our community too. Here in Los Angeles for a dollar you can walk into a lot of Mexican grocery stores and buy 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 pounds of fruits and vegetables of a number of different types. They're not the ideal produce, they're still mass-produced with pesticides, but they're way better than buying soda or juice. Go to the 99 Cent Only Store and you can buy all sorts of fruits and veggies for a dollar. And you'll have given your kid far more nutrition than that 3 liter of soda had in it. Their stomachs will be more full and they'll have more balanced attention patterns and sleep better too.

What damn solution are you arguing for though? There are people fighting to make school lunches healthier - that's a good cause. Home food being healthier is also a good cause. When i was a teacher the stuff the kids brought from home (often built around spicey hot cheetos and various sugar drinks, and usually in expensive single-serving packs) was WAY worse than the free lunches at school. You got a solution or you just hating?

It's not just about lower life expectancy. Brehs lose jobs because they are sick too much or late too much. There was a brother posting just the other day about how he lost his nice government job because of his diabetes complications. Brehs fail to get jobs because they're not fit enough, their bodies aren't in shape to stay up late active enough to put in the work they need to do, or cause their concentration is always poor. Bad nutrition affects you in a bunch of ways. It helps the community a lot to get people eating healthier.

Advocate for elimination of government subsidies for junk food.

Advocate for the spread of high-qualify farming methods.

Advocate for black people to grow more of their own food.

Advocate for more quality grocery stores in Black neighborhoods.

Advocate for healthier school lunches.

Advocate for Black families to be educated so they make healthier food choices.

Shout down the trolls who cape for corporate food.

We can do all those things at once. It's dumb to hate on one solution just because there are other issues that also need to be addressed.

You claimed "you sent me a message that you wanted me to read it", now you admitting that all i did was name you in the comment. :mjlol:

Just like your claim that I wrote a mini-essay supporting White Supremacy, which in David-speak prob means that I wrote a 60-word comment saying that Trump is worse than Obama or something. :mjlol:

If you're gonna keep getting your opinions from The Hertiage Foundation, right-wing websites and Neo-Confederate authors, you should find somewhere else to post.

All this typing and you still can't defend your claim that fast food is just as good for you as any other food. :mjlol:

LOL I said what I meant and I proved it.
You again seem to be detached with how much you are focused on little ol me.
I'm consuming too much of your mental space, to the point you can't even deliver coherent arguments.

Solution? I'm just calling it the way it is. All that talk of advocating for this and that sounds nice but u forget....There's a shyt load of ignorant people out here who look at Hawaiin Punch the same way as they would an apple. They see 5% juice and think thats good enough. You're dealing with ignorance , poverty and cheap options when dealing with poor communities. There's a mindstate that exists that doesn't focus on being healthy like that. Eating healthy is not a priority to some people. OP already pointed out the obesity problem...and that just confirms said lack of eating healthy as a priority.

What solutions can I offer when Mcdonalds has multi millions in resources, advertisements and available resturants to keep the ignorant and poor fullfilled? I cant compete with Mcdonalds on such a mass level. Thats why I brought up how talk is empty when no one will go into the poor neighborhoods and provide a real alternative to the current availability of fast food.

The blind? What about the poor?

I noticed these "health" conversations on the coli always are unrealistic when dealing with the poor. No one in the coli will go in the poor neighborhoods and open up stores to give them healthy cheap alternatives against Mcdonalds, Wendys. ect.

2 orders of 10 nuggets for 1 dollar is the same price of a head of lettuce. But with lettuce u need u some dressing and tomatoes and things to add to make a salad. Eating healthy is more expensive.....Whats the solution to this reality?

:jbhmm:

Eating healthy is not more expensive when you break it down per meal. That lettuce tomato and healthy dressing gonna run you bout $7-8 thats 1 meal from fast food. So you can easily make 4-5 salads for the price of 1 fast food meal.
It's all about knowing how to maximize what you have. You can flip a pack of chicken breast into 4-5 meals and thats if youre eating big (most people are inactive and dont need a whole chicken breast in one serving anyway).
Stretch it out and folks will be straight

That's just defeatist crap though. What's your end game? You're literally taking time out of your day to tell people not to try.

There are people working to bring healthier food options for Black people. There are also people working to educate folk on better eating options. Why stand in the way of either one of those goals?
