Lafayette isn't bad at all. You aren't in the middle of everything and most of the better cities in Louisiana are a quick hop on the interstate.

I would suggest looking at youngsville as someone mentioned before.

Lafayette is a cool city, based on your priorities you will probably enjoy living there. Women and food will both be abundant.

Get smart on flood insurance if you're thinking of buying property, it may be something you aren't used to depending on where you are coming from.

I don't know anyone who lives in Lafayette that doesn't like the city, I have had many good nights there.

They have then but they aren't in abundance or as deep like some of the neighborhoods in New Orleans. Before they repaved Hollygrove I was scared to drive on the roads when it was raining.

The roads are still shytty though. 60k tires may last you 50k.

Damn well I got my transfer in I been researching warm cities and it seem like a good option for me.

Georgia and Texas over populated. I ain’t even thinking about Mississippi. Louisiana seem cool from me researching it soo far. I gotta visit after December.

Yeah, in New Orleans we have some of the highest rates in the country, I wouldn't expect cheap insurance in Lafayette.

It's cool. There. College town. Nice mix of black and white. Not too overly white...but not too black like Shreveport. Food is mostly Cajun tho and not Creole...but good eats.

Thanks for that I want to hear everything about the state. What about upper middle class blacks though? I’m not an Uncle Tom but I do well financially. How’s the relationship between us and the police? I want to hear everything. I won’t be living in the hood. How will neighbors handle a brother that can live in a well to do neighborhood?
