Im confused? Why do people keep claiming they are going PC for next Gen?

Also it's really not that hard to build a pc. If you're worried you can just pick out all of your parts, take it to frys electronics and pay them $75 to put it together for you. Having you own customized machine is such a nice feeling

These guys surely think building a gaming pc is just plug and play. Even then the fact that you have such overhead like Windows, drivers, hard drive fragmentation, hard drive speed etc that factor in how your games perform, it becomes frustrating.

It took me me little while to get Far Cry 3 running almost perfectly to my satisfaction on my rig. It was worth it no doubt, but joe blow who just pops cd's in, and play won't want to be messing with some system.cfg file, deleting entries and setting up executables to work in with Windows. Case in point: Recently I bought Crysis on steam and it didn't even work. It doesn't work out the gate without you finding a fix that's not even official. I had to download a folder, rename it and run a file from there to get it to work.

The thing its not a one shot go, the game could have a problem with windows itself, it might not like your video card drivers so u have to go and downgrade just to play that game, could conflict with your sound card...just a lot of stupid shyt.

Iv'e seen clowns buy the best stuff but because they didnt know what they were doing got shyt performance, people would out perform them on lesser cards.

You could always pay somebody to do it but then your just spending more money.

I dunno, the older I get, the more I are my friends going to pc. When I was in my 20s nobody was pc only. But now in my early 30s, things are changing. I also work in a tech field though

There are plenty of functions and abilities of consoles that not everyone will use or care about.

They had their chance today to get ahead of the field and showed some trailers, a new controller, and harped on a weak ass sharing option that you can do with a pc. It's not new it's not innovative. It was a waste of an event. I hope MS blows them out of the water! If we are going to be at least interested in buying a Ps4 give us something to look forward to. All these "advancements" could have been shown online. Lackluster and further proof that Sony doesn't know what they are doing. PS4 reveal with no PS4 shown. Stop dikk teasing.

Thats cause PCs had the cycle. They were dope in the beginning. I played my first games on PC as a kid, Warcraft, DOOM etc... Then shyt started getting overshadowed by consoles as JP development got huge. Then Half Life 2/Doom 3 and Steam era kicked in and shyt has been slowly creeping on a come up. I'm 22 fresh out of college and all my friends are switching to PC. their rationale is "shyt i already use one for work, and I dont feel like buying a console since all the games are the same, so i'll just drop a lil more on a PC "

You do realize that you're coming across as throwing a temper tantrum just because they didn't show you enough games today. That's basically it. You, HHL4E and others are just sounding bitter. The sharing option on the PC is not in one connected set up. It's not one single service. It's not done so intuitively. But go ahead and tell me that you easily upload your best gaming moments online via video all in one click on a regular basis .

Translation: I expected more than any rational person should expect from a show that is coming out pre-E3 and now I'm going to draw all sorts of crazy conclusions based in very little fact and be reactionary and saw that I'm jumping to PC as if PC gamers and console gamers are the same group of people and haven't remained separate forever for a reason. The type of people that are or will become PC gamers were never Sony or Microsoft's market and never will be.

Stop it fam. :thiswork: I love this fake "innovative" shyt that everyone is on when if you were gaming on a PC right now all you would have is better graphics and a smoother running game (which may not be noticeable) and none of the other features on the PS4 without going through multiple channels. All that "you can hook your PC up to your TV with HDMI" shyt is ridiculous because most people do not want to do that in the first place. They prefer two distinct entities. If you were going to try a PC, you were going to do it anyway and were inclined to, nothing Sony or Microsoft did was ever going to drive you to that.

I didn't mention anything about 30fps being optimized as the benchmark this gen. I'm well aware that PC is >>>>>>>>>>in terms of raw visual output.

Also I don't know exactly how much games but the fact that Skyrim can't be run on a gfx card that came out in 2006 as good as a 360 says alot.

Games have to be optimized for consoles and thus it is stripped so it could be ran at a stable frame rate and it could fit on a medium format unlike pc.

And that's just a first gen system. Imagine 2-3 years down the line. The nice thing about pcs is that it's a constant and steady evolution each year; you don't have to wait 6 years for new technology.

@CrimsonTider, PC gaming is great. Here's why...

You can get exactly the system you want. This means that graphics are as good as you want to make them. You won't believe the framerates and resolutions and details and effects you'll see when you start PC gaming.

The keyboard / mouse is a superior interface. It just is. BUT, for games that should be played with a controller (sports, fighting games, Assassin's Creed, etc...), you can just get a Bluetooth dongle and connect your existing Dual Shock or 360 controller.

Games are way cheaper. WAY cheaper breh ! It's crazy how expensive console games are. This is where PC gaming eventually becomes "cheaper". It will probably take a year or two to break even, depending on how much you spend and what the next gen consoles price at.

The games are just better. Like someone else said, the PC version is always the definitive version of any multiplatform title.

The only downsides is the initial investment, and the occasional hardware / software glitch. But like others have said, it's well worth it.
