Either that or takes a serious beating till it's stopped. Canelo is a proven elite BIGGER fighter who does things on par if not better than Spence. It's not hard at all to touch Spence & against an ELITE fighter & counter puncher that's a huge problem. This isn't Mikey Garcia or Kell Brook
this match up will more than likely never be made, and after what happened to Brook, that might be for the best.
I'm still real curious to see how Spence would try to fight Canelo, cause I can't imagine him fighting like he does at 147. He's not going to be irresponsible trying to bully the bigger man, he'll be trying to fight on the outside utilizing his longer reach to extend his jab. Canelo is too flat footed and slow, Spence is going to make it hell for Canelo to get inside. The battle is going to be about lead foot placement.
Spence is not looking for extended exchanges where he'll be open to Canelos counters, he's going to minimize them and tie up, only looking for a single connect before getting out.
End of the day, I'm taking Canelo, but I don't think Spence should be underestimated at all.
