:what: dude you are already 39 years old in a Karate Class

Why would you want to have to go to Boot Camp and all that physical rigor at that age?!?!

That's what white boys do for adventure

Don't do it man..

This is a BAD IDEA:francis:

Bored with my career
No kids
Impeccable shape so I’ll get an age waiver easily
Not married
Only making 46K a year but, no kids so I’m comfortable

Most likely going to the Marines. Can’t see myself doing anything less than the REAL/frontlines sh*t :hhh:

I’ll keep you updated on my progress. Until then, any questions?

:mjlol:I’ll be rooting for you, but who told you that only the marines do frontline shyt? At this point in the gwot, you’d most likely be stuck doing training rotations to Korea if you join the marines. The Army does cooler stuff, more variations of combat arms, we see more combat, we do better in combat.

If you want to join, I’d say go for it. Just research occupational specialties you’re interested in and have a plan for when you get out.

So the age waiver is some bs?
It’s not, but it might be more difficult due to the drawdown in the last few years. I saw someone come in, mid 40’s in 2007, but that was when the Iraq surge was happening and waivers were loose.
