So the age waiver is some bs?

You can get an age waiver but they are generally tied to special skills (law, medical, science, etc) not off the street Privates.

It is possible to apply and be granted that waiver up until 42 for the Army...Airforce takes them until 39. Hes also not prior service.

OP check with a guard recruiter before an active recruiter strings you along for months until they cant make their mission numbers and than decide to put you in....Join the guard make it through AIT and than request a conditional release to go actice duty.

Ups and downs, but I was without a car and home this time last year, but now I got a whip and I'm staying with a roommate now so

At times I miss the independence of being a civilian but I'm taking advantage of all the opportunities while I can

Why?

IMO you can't beat the independence of being a civilian. If you don't like your job you can look for another one and put in your two weeks notice. With the military you basically stuck in your contact, and if you do find a way out it doesn't look good on your end.
