Bought a P64 Radom, 9x18 Makarov at a previous gun show and I love it.
Pros: Terribly accurate, easy breakdown for cleaning, perfect for concealed carry and all steel.
Cons: It' a BEAST to shoot; its very snappy but hardly a deal- breaker for me.
You will feel it in the Web of your hand considering its a blowback design to handle that particular round.
In DA, the stock trigger is at least 20-25 pounds.
Single action though is 4-5 pounds. Wolff makes replacement springs to help with the recoil for those interested. Another con would be finding parts for a firearm this old. Mine is stamped 1970.
All considered, I lucked up on it for under $200. I like it alot.
you can buy any body armour online and have it shipped to your door some states have restrictions on felons having body armour

Yes to the safety...its really personal preference at that point...focus more on getting a quality holster that you are very comfortable with. Practice drawing your fire arm out of it until its second nature. Only then will you know if you are comfortable with no safety
