From the looks of things, sports is the only thing holding most people back from making the plunge for the most part. As soon as sports are more readily available online and these tech savvy youngsters grow older, cable TV is finished.

Fiance is cool with it.

I just downloaded Suits (her favorite show) and we watched them the next day. We watch shyt on Netflix, only time she regrets not having it is when there's some award show on, but that's only a few nights out of the year and that's not worth paying an expensive monthly fee.

And like I said, local cable/basic cable is free. So if you have kids they can catch cartoons and kiddie shyt on there.

I have never paid for cable. I currently have an OTA satellite so that I can watch HDTV for free and then I paid like $250 to get a OTA DVR and a 1000GB hard drive attached to it. I watch ION television for Law and Order, ABC for comedy and Fox for football. Movies I buy/rent for free and for live sports I'll occasionally stream via reddit's subforums.
