I cut the umbilical cord back in April 2011. Havent missed it either. I bought a lil digital converter box just to watch sports on the basic channels. I dont miss it. If I wanna watch something like Hardknocks on HBO, I'll just dvr it at my chick's place. I couldnt justify paying 120.00 a month for a bunch of reality shows and Insanity infomercials. lol

A few months later, I got rid of my smart phone too...

Anyone know where I can stream "HD" "HD" quality or close of sports online?! Don't just google it and show me the first link. I need someone who's been to a website with high quality streams (i already know about the mid quality ones). Because I have cable but it came with the apartment and it doesn't include espn. MNF is not going to be broadcasting on the xbox live espn app so either I bite the bullet and upgrade to full cable, stream it or I'm fukked in a few weeks.

Internet Caps? I wouldn't want to be apart of some bs like that

They are coming..for everyone most likely.

Comcast used to have a 250gb limit, apparently they were very lax on enforcing it, and only would maybe call you or something if you went over like 4 months in a row. But when you go and check the counter now it says that they are no longer using limits at all (But you can still see how much data you are using).

Wouldn't be surprised if Comcast brings the shyt back. Canada already has em even though the people put up a decent fight against them. Americans are gonna roll over.

Right now, I'm paying 90 for 100mb and HBO/Showtime. Comcast is a fukking pain in the ass to deal with, I honestly don't even feel like messing with the deal I have.

Haven't had Comcast since 2005.

FiOS would get some fight from me and others on a bandwidth cap especially since they have to come through and dig up your whole neighborhood to install it.

I have to have cable, I'm marginally adept at downloading and watching shows, movies, music, but it's so much easier to just turn on the tv, but it has gotten a little ridiculous, Cox Cable is getting me for 120 a month for internet and cable, it was $80 like 2 years ago, and 100 a year ago. They hit me for ten every year or so. A friend of mine doesn't have cable, and he is basically inept at internet downloading and watching, that dude will be watching some off brand bullshyt show on the CW at 1130 PM on a Monday.

And I thought I was the only one. I've told several people that I would have deaded cable years ago if not for the NFL/NBA. About 5 years ago I had cable with HBO, Cinemax and Showtime and I never watched any of them.

So I cut all 3 premiums, downgraded to basic cable and got a Netflix subscription. I couldn't be happier :lawd:

Only thing I'm missing is Boardwalk Empire on HBO.

But only thing I watch now outside of sports is the History Channel. Everything else is a waste otherwise. I live completely off of netflix and cheap DVDs that I buy.

this is the million dollar question that has yet to be answered by folks that ditched cable.

NBA and MLB have their own online service. NFL is the only one yet to fully jump in. And I'm pretty sure you can watch your local games over-the-air and Monday and Sunday Night Football on ESPN and NBC respectively.
