No matter how you want to play this, you will lose.

If its a convenience factor...you really don't win because after you set everything up Netflix's content shytS all over thats on Cable TV. If you throw the "latest releases" factor then you pay anywhere from $3-$5 extra just to watch it on top of your overpriced fukking subscription.

Price? No contest, you are basically throwing your money away AND watching ads on top of that. Most of us streamers are watching shyt with NO commercials and paying LESS.

Now I Agree That Cable Is Gonna Meet It's Death Very Soon But The Bolded Is Just Not True At All

Netflix Newest Additions Are Thor And Captain America, You Gotta Be Kidding :heh:

Im The Type That Can Be Fine Without Cable Also and Just Eating Off The Net but You're Giving Netflix Too Much Props When It Comes To Movie Selection

you don't have the right sources that is basically all it comes down to.

Also, you can buy episodes for breaking bad or any other show shortly after they air for $2-$3 per episode or a season pass. But nah instead I should go ahead and give my cable company $350-$500 in that same 3-4 month stretch the seasons are on just because they provide me a fukking remote? You CANNOT BE SERIOUS.

I know all the "spots" and there are plenty of shows not available.

the content on netflix is fine, you are just not exploring all that is out there. There is literally something for everyone on a consistent basis.

If you have Cable TV? Oh sorry sir, you need to call in and "subscribe" to another package on top of your already damn near $150 a month bill.

You dudes need to stop fronting, what is it that you guys watch that you cannot absolutely live without besides sports? HGTV? Just keep it all the way live...are you watching lifetime?

Not if you found the right site. You're not looking up anything. You just hit your connect up

*downloads 720p episode of Breaking Bad an hour or 2 after it's aired*
*watches with no commercials*
*admires the pic quality*
*thinks about all the years you thought cable was a need*

:heh:

Times have changed breh. And you don't have to hook your computer/laptop up to the TV. That's what's streaming is for.

:youngsabo:

It' gets even better when you're on the right tracker and know how to set uTorrent up on auto feeds of your favorite shows.

Cable TV Subscriber stats, Q2 2012: 425,000, not 400,000, subs lost

A report on Thursday suggested that 400,000 American homes cut the cord last quarter, ditching cable and satellite television services to get their home entertainment elsewhere. A number of people argued that the massive figure didn’t account for the 275,000 subscribers that switched to AT&T’s (T) U-Verse and Verizon’s (VZ) FiOS service. What Reuters’s figure also doesn’t account for, however, is the estimated 280,000-300,000 subscribers Charter (CHTR) and Cablevision (CVC) are expected to report having lost during the second quarter.

Assuming that figure comes in close to the high end of estimates, which is likely, pay-TV in the U.S. will have shed approximately 425,000 net subscribers in the second quarter.

As AllThingsD points out, however, much of those losses can likely be attributed to temporary disconnects such as college students moving back home for the summer. In 2011, the site says pay-TV services shed 442,000 subscribers in the second quarter but recovered later in the year to finish with a net positive 200,000 additions.

The bad news for traditional cable companies, however, is that all of that growth went to telco services like U-Verse and FiOS, leaving traditional cable TV service providers with net losses.
I am not buying that college summer break news. More of these threads are popping up all over the internet. The days of the Cable TV monopoly will soon be over.

I Agree With You For The Most Part, All Im Saying Is This Live Off The Internet Lifestyle Isnt Completely Perfected JUST Yet

Im On Your Side, Believe Me

The Streaming Sports And Not Seeing Shows As They Air Are The Only Kinks That Need To Be Ironed Out IMO

But Sports Is Becoming Less And Less Likely A Problem With Streaming Services

I don't have cable right now. Couldn't fit my tv in the car when I moved back down for school. Haven't missed it :manny:

watchseries.eu (tv shows)
1channel.ch (movies)
websites for news

I'm doing just fine :manny:

Broadband package lets you stream it I believe.

I have a Roku player and an Xbox. I'm going to run League Pass off of those this season. And if the app is a smooth as the ESPN one on 360 I'm looking forward to it.

From the looks of things, sports is the only thing holding most people back from making the plunge for the most part. As soon as sports are more readily available online and these tech savvy youngsters grow older, cable TV is finished.
